Nokia C7 Games: Fragger Symbian^3

Fragger is a fighting game that puts you in an endangered world while needing your help to explode all enemies.

You have the opportunity of unleashing your abilities to shoot and to kill in order to eradicate all enemies.  As you improve in your action packed adventure, you unlock 3 different bonuses.  Fragger features 310 challenging levels and you would find yourself in 10 different worlds.  Fragger thus, assures that you have loads of fun that would stretch into many hours.

It has an amazing graphics and you would see the game leader boards and achievements.  The game music turns itself off automatically when playing other music on your Nokia C7.  Once you notice how good you are in grenade launching and explosions, you can compare your score online with millions of Fragger players.  You would see the local and global high-scores lists.  The game also features an interactive tutorial to teach you how to play if you are just a beginner.

Symbian Anna Change-log

Guess you are all enjoying the new Symbian Anna.  It’s two dates now and I can’t just stop loving it.  I thought this update was worth waiting for.  it remains to see now what Symbian Belle would bring into the game.  Then possibly, Symbian Susan, or Symbian Catherine would be next. LOL.

Okay! I decided to share the changelog of the Symbian Anna.  It’s good you go through them to see if you are lacking one of them.  This is the official Changelog.

New Icons

  • This is the first thing you see in the update, and it’s quite beautiful in the eyes.  I just love the round icons.

Improved text input

  • There’s a portrait QWERTY keyboard for fast, single-handed typing.
  • There’s also a split-screen view while you’re typing, so you can see the web pages, forms and message threads you’re replying to.

Better browser

  • The browser is easier to use and faster, and offers better compliance with recent standards.

Enhanced Maps

  • Ovi Maps now has a simpler and quicker search function.
  • It also includes public transport routes.
  • And you can check in to social networks, send emails and SMS messages sharing your location.

Business features

  • Email improvements include full meeting request support.
  • Hardware-accelerated encryption of your phone’s data for true business-grade security.
  • Secure intranet access for business users who need IPSEC and SSL VPN enablers.

Near-Field Communications

  • Symbian Anna also activates the NFC hardware in the Nokia C7, for easy sharing, games, use with NFC-enabled accessories and reading NFC tags on other items.

For developers

  • Flashlite 4, Java Runtime 2.2, Qt Mobility 1.1 and Qt 4.7 bring things up-to-date for developers.

N/B- If you feel you cannot see one of these features, then you would like to either re-instal the version update using Nokia Software Updater (the Ovi Suite software update has a problem re-installing this update. I don’t know why).  You can also visit a Nokia Care center to help you do that.  For those who haven’t got any update indication yet should still wait, because it’s coming to your region very soon.

Symbian Anna Officially rolls out

YESSSS!  It has finally arrived.  After over 6 months of suspense and waiting, the newest Symbian^3 update which is called Symbian Anna has been officially released.  This update comes out gradually in various regions of the world, and I can confirm that I got the update too from Nigeria, West Africa.

The update I got asked me to use the Nokia Software Updater or Ovi Suite to update my C7.  This means that I cannot update it using OTA.

Various sites indicate that in other regions of the world, the update can be done through OTA as well as through the Ovi Suite.

The easiest way to know if it has been released in your region is by tapping the SW update on your Nokia C7 to see if it has landed in your region.  You can also do so using the PC applications: Nokia Ovi Suite or Nokia Software Updater.  Symbian^3 devices have UDP (User Data Preservation), which preserves your personal files even after update.  Yet, it is adviced that you backup your files on your PC before going on with the Symbian Anna update.

The good news and a point to be proud of about your Nokia C7 is the fact that this update activates the NFC function on your C7, and this is only available for the C7.  Even N8 lacks that feature.  Isn’t that COOL?

I will try to post the Changelog as soon as possible.  Enjoy this first and feel the fast and elegant difference.

CAMERA+ PLUS Symbian^3

There are many apps now for capturing photos out there for the Nokia C7 and other Symbian^3 devices.  Camera+ is yet another one.

Camera+ is closely similar to the CameraPro app but it is in Qt.  It has a nice user interface which is intuitive and customisable to one’s taste, and it’s really fast in capturing photos and videos.  It captures images and videos in High Definition also.  It has the usual self-timer, time-lapse, bracketing for HDR, and burst modes.  It brings out the best out of your Camera by supporting autofocus (Nokia N8), macro (N8), continuos focus, zoom, presets, level meter, image controls, geo tagging, compass, and so on.  If you are familiar with CameraPro, this would not be an enigma for you.  It’s quite simple and produces fantastic results.

You must have the Qt Mobility files installed on your Nokia C7 to install this app.

YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER v2.0 Symbian^3

Ever wanted to keep that video which you are watching on YouTube so that you can watch it later as much as you want without going online?  This is what Youtube Downloader does, so do not go searching for other solutions.

FILMARK Symbian^3

Filmark is a very useful application that changes the way you watch your videos on your Nokia C7 and other Symbian^3 devices.  It is a QT
based application.

Filmark extends the functionality of the in-built video player.  Filmark recalls the exact position you were in while watching a particular video.  It works in such a way as to take you back to that point where you stopped the last time you watched the video so that you do not need to fast-forward or search for the point where you were before. Yeah!  Filmark does that.  It works with your in-built video player and it’s not a video player of its own.

The app saves the required data about all the watched videos to make this happen.  Once a video is deleted from the smartphone’s memory or memory card, the saved data about that video is deleted with it.  This happens also when you must have watched the whole video to the end, meaning that the next time you watch that video clip, you would be taken back to the beginning.

All you need is just to start the app and turn it on by pressing the large on button in the middle of the screen.  Filmark would henceforth follow all your video-watching activities to make your life easier.

Nokia Panorama v2 Symbian^3

Nokia Panorama is an app that permits your Nokia C7 and other Symbian^3 devices to take wide-angle, high-resolution panoramic views.

There are times when we want to take landscape photos, but the whole view can’t get into the C7’s default camera app.  Or, you want to take a group of friends and there are these two or three fellows that are outside your camera view.  You try to go back only to see the persons or objects getting smaller.  Well, Nokia panorama has the solution to all that.

With Nokia panorama, you can capture wide high-quality panoramic views.  With the 8MP camera, the results of the images are sharp and beautiful when you scroll through.  Once the first shot is taken (either from your extreme right or left), Nokia panorama lets you go left or right as your choice maybe, and it automatically scans your horizon and guides you with directions that will lead you to your next shot.  Once you reach the next point, the app takes a shot for you automatically, which limits your job to simply going left, right, up, or down, as the case may be.  You can take as many shots as you like and can even make a 360 degree turn.  When you end the shots by clicking on the icon on the screen, you just relax and Nokia panorama stiches all the images together to near perfection.   I’ve used this app once to make clones out of myself by simply changing positions on the same background.  I tricked my friends to believe I was a triplet. LOL.

Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.1.40 Beta

The newest version of Nokia Ovi suite is a major improvement to previous version.  The User Interface looks familiar but you would notice new features and designs in it. It is simpler and faster.

You get access to many information and files just from a simple window.  I preferred the Old Nokia Pc Suite for my Nokia phones including my C7 due to its simplicity, but this version gave me a rethink.  Nokia intends to use the Ovi suite as the one and unique PC suite for Nokia phones by
eventually stopping its support for the Old Nokia PC suite and the other variants.  It integrates smoothly the main features from Nokia Photos,
Nokia Software updater and Nokia Map loader.  The most welcomed change log in this version is the ability to download from Ovi store once you
login from the Nokia Ovi suite.  This makes application and game download easier for Nokia phone owners.

Here are the features

  • A simplified Maps view with which you can instantly see which maps you have on your phone.
  • The direct download and installation of Ovi Store applications, games, and so on, from the online Nokia Ovi store.
